I remember when I read that story I felt exactly the same way. It was unbelievable that a judge would even consider keeping a US citizen in custody. I’m sorry you and your license were targeted. I’m overjoyed that justice prevailed. Keep up the good work.

Sounds to me like you should file a judicial misconduct complaint against this Judge Allman with the Judicial Inquiry & Review Commission, JIRC, (if that's the case) as well as file a complaint with the VSB. This man has NO BUSINESS being a judge...especially since he seems to "pre-JUDGE" people!

Once again I will not click the like button which implies to me I somehow like the content. I know many might click like for other reasons, but I only like content and I do not like the content of this article.

But it does give all of us heads up that we long thought was true... these guys of a certain ilk demanding the freedom of speech to spout division and disharmony they never intended free speech to include any other right to practice speech counter to their own.

Joseph Goebbels said that because they used the process of the electoral system and demanded the right to spread vitrolism did not mean they would give others the same right once they ascended to power.

Brother Qasim—I applaud and admire your grit and tenacity. Continue to fight the good fight my brother and as the late John Lewis said, recognize the need to get into some “good trouble“. I am grateful that there is no longer a question about your law license and I am truly sorry that responding to the hateful and vile comments of a jurist using his power to oppress, came at significant cost to you and your family.

Even at 75 years old, I too, will not bend the knee or capitulate to this madness. I will do whatever I can to assist America in ending this wretched sickness of mind and spirit.

If you would send me the necessary information, I would like to send a financial contribution to enable your resources to fight this good fight. Stay Strong my friend.

You DO belong!

What a bunch of garbage from that judge. Free speech anyone? Good grief. I read the complaint and the post on social media more than once. It read to me as a statement about what's happening in this country, and not a specific judge.

You made a valid observation in that post.

It is mind blowing that a *social media post* is held to such esteem by people.

That judge is a disgrace. He is the one who should be disbarred. Maybe you should sue him.

Qasim, I thank you and bless you. I can barely imagine the stress this has caused you and your family, who have supported you because they KNOW this is the correct way to live and fulfill your sacred pledge as a civil rights attorney. Not all such lawyers are willing to do that - as you so cogently described. They will have to live with that karma. Thank you! Mashallah!

Glad to lend you support on this Substack. Thank you for speaking out. I’m going to take a wild guess that Chief Judge is a white guy. It’s disgusting that he doesn’t have to pay the legal fees since he lost the case 🤬 We need so many systemic changes.

Thank you so much for resisting! Sadly, we are seeing far too little of that from so many we once thought would fight for us.

I am a child of privilege that I have not earned. I merely maintain the position I inherited through work and hope. The promise of the United States is failing in the most fundamental ways, and through the work and faith of people like Qasim Rashid that failure can be arrested, perhaps even turned around. The incredibly specious, and unjust, accusation leveled against Mr Rashid by a Chief Judge is only one indication of the fascism running amok in this once great country. Thank you, qasim, for your service to this country and humanity.
