Qasim, I so appreciate your being a fellow American with all the characteristics of your life - learning, growing, caring, serving and teaching - with heart and courage as you do. It restores my faith in America to know we are in this nations lifeblood together. Hooray 🗽🎉

I intend to stand against the culture wars that are attempting to divide us, and will engage with your writing as often as possible.

34 years, you say? A fine number, and am looking forward to many more to come.

I can clearly see you in the 10 year old! Still cute after all these years--none of it wore off!!! You do beautiful work, Qasim, and you are very brave. 💙

Mazel Tov! Your support for the dispossessed, here and abroad (and particularly in Gaza-West Bank) is an inspiration.

This country is far better off for having you here. Thank you for fighting for freedom and justice for all people.

Your story makes me think about students who were in a middle school where I taught. Many were Muslim immigrants and their parents were probably waiting to go through asylum. This was 20 years ago and I think immigrants were better accepted than now. I cannot imagine what families of immigrants go through to become citizens here, in this once great country.
