I'm so sorry that I need to ask to unsubscribe at this time. A very crooked contractor has left us with a gutted home, a full mortgage and rent to pay which is 71.5% of our income. We currently need every little bit of our income to make it through the next 6 months. As soon as we're through this season I will resubscribe again. Please let me know what I need to do to unsubscribe? Thank you, Jenni

I wouldn’t unsubscribe for any of those reasons. But thanks for being so honest and transparent. Don’t change a thing.

In the relatively short time I’ve subscribed to you, I have learned, grown and been inspired by your writing and actions.

Proud to follow you.

I have reluctantly unsubscribed from many Substacks. It can be costly to stick with all of the appealing ones. I will say that I have never once considered unsubbing from your work because I find nothing precisely like it anywhere else.

If the moneydrain from the lower middle class continues, I might have to quit but it would be painful--really painful. I'd quit the NYT long before I would quit your substack.

I am truly honored, Doulton. Thank you.

Sur: l wish l could be subscribed ,but my earnings are so fragile and random that l barely make my ends meet; however,l follow your thoughts and agree with most.

My content is free for a reason! Thank you for reading and sharing!

If I ever unsubscribe my paid subscription, it’s only because I’m on disability and I’m getting squeezed out. I try to support as many people as possible, but sometimes that extra five dollars puts me over. And I have a young child to support… it’s definitely not any of the three reasons you listed! Thank you as always for all your hard work!!!

Thank you, Andrea. I cherish your support. And please know that I never want to be of any burden on anyone, so if easier to cancel the paid and remain a free subscriber, I cherish your trust and support all the same.

I don’t make much money, so I’ve limited myself to 2 paid Substack subscriptions. Yours is one of them. Thank you for helping me stay informed.

Clara that means the world to me. I’m truly honored and grateful for your trust and support. And please don’t ever feel burdened. If ever you feel the need to step back please feel completely at ease doing so. Truly, thank you.

I unsubscribe from a feeling of being snowed under, not able to catch a moment. No fear or anything. Its like my own life and family don’t matter. But I will never stop supporting Palestine, opposing our own right wing government here in India or have empathy for the many oppressed for varieties of reasons. I respect the people whose works resonate with me. But just not able to manage so much. Sorry to sound weak about it all.

You don't sound weak. You sound like you're engaging in self-care. Never apologize for that. I appreciate you.

I get fear of the regime, truly. The words of tRump and the Greedy Old Patriarch have stated that dissent is a crime (it isn't) to be punished - pure fascism. As for being pro Palestine, I absolutely am. What the Government of Israel has done to Palestinians is a giant war crime they've been committing for decades. It is not antisemitic to be against Israel committing genocide. Fighting the fights we are facing are necessary!

Sharlene Korzeniewski's avatar

I believe all humans deserve dignity and respect. That means Israeli and Palestinian people too. Genocide is not okay, and Netanyahu has been about the destruction of Gaza. If it's acceptable to protect Israel, why isn't it acceptable to protect Gaza? I truly don't understand. We need to love and appreciate each other!

Good On You Qasim for keeping to solid and non-hateful morals and principles.

It has always come down to why I feeling so strongly against Maga simply because their apparent morals and principles go against every fiber and cell of what makes me me.

Keep speaking the truth, we need to hear it amongst all the noise.
