You should add to your list to avoid carrying a pocket knife or any other sharp item that ICE can claim is a concealed weapon. Even if you have a FOID CARD and/or a concealed very card, do NOT BRING YOUR WEAPON to the protest. Finally do not carry a teargas pen or a can of bear spray to the protest - even if they are empty. Optics are important so don’t give ICE ANY REASON to be belligerent.
You know, I go to all of these and in Maine it’s some cold days. But, I’m getting really discouraged that people like you, with as much readership (and I’ve been one) completely fail to mention protecting trans people. There’s two groups SPECIFICALLY targeted in Project 2025, immigrants and trans people and,… crickets. Are you reading the laws coming out of Texas, W Virginia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Kansas, Tennessee,…? 5 year prison terms for using a bathroom??
IMPORTANT! Before you go please watch this video by Tad Stoermer (I’m not affiliated). I don’t want to dissuade attending protests. Please be informed about how resistance has worked and how we need to change tactics to work against people with pathological personalities like Trump et al. https://youtu.be/inW479ct4Kc?si=4IGI3SoilqNF8ERF
I disagree. It is not "for nothing" that a free people continue to exercise their rights. It is not "for nothing" that a free people continue to organize and plan. It is not "for nothing" that we raise our collective voice in dissent. It is for everything!
While rules 5 & 6 suggest you stay silent, except for asking for a lawyer, it’s my understanding that you must actually state that you are exercising your right to remain silent, to inform the authorities of your intent. If someone else knows for sure, please reply.
I remember how shocked I was when I learned that the cops can lie to you to trick you into confessing, and they're not breaking any laws when they do that.

Thank you for this information

Or are we just that inconvenient?
I’d really appreciate an answer.
Two options. #2 likely better before you leave the house. Then just turn it on when you get home. Option #1 is good to have at the ready for any time.
1) Temporarily disable Face ID
You can temporarily prevent Face ID from unlocking your iPhone.
- Press and hold the side button and either volume button for 2 seconds.
- After the sliders appear, press the side button to immediately lock iPhone.
- iPhone locks automatically if you don’t touch the screen for a minute or so.
The next time you unlock iPhone with your passcode, Face ID is enabled again.
2) Turn off Face ID
Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode.
Do one of the following:
- Turn off Face ID for specific items only: Turn off one or more of the options, such as Password AutoFill.
- Turn off Face ID for face masks: Turn off Face ID with a Mask.
- Turn off Face ID: Tap Reset Face ID.
Thank you! 🙌🏽🌈

If this lrotest doesnt end with all of them up on the gallows, it is for nothing

Thankfully my phone needs my pin number to enter and no one but me can figure it out, I ain't scanning my face on any device.
That being said though, I unfortunately can't attend due to being busy on Saturday, but I'll gladly support it from the sidelines.

That is if you are actually detained. Otherwise you can just stay silent and leave.
Thank you! I might suggest the lawyer’s phone number be written on the inside of an arm with a Sharpie.
Nice!!!
Thank you for helping us to protect ourselves and know our rights by law.

There's a great National Lawyer's Guild video:

Thank you for this. I did not know about the distinction of phone opened by passcode in lieu of facial recognition. Now I know. Well done!
Absolutely. Those subtle nuances are important to remember.
